Dave Cheung is director of photography based in Hong Kong and London.
Born in Hong Kong and raised across multiple countries including Singapore and the UK, Dave Cheung has been working as a cinematographer since 2015.
In 2014, he graduated with a degree in Visual Communication Design from the prestigious Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for cinematography and embarked on a journey of self-teaching to hone his skills in this field. From then on, he has consistently pursued his goal of becoming a skilled cinematographer.
As of 2024, his impressive portfolio boasts experience working on 17 feature films as a DoP or Camera Operator. Additionally, he has worked on numerous commercials for leading brands including Sony, Samsung, HSBC, Microsoft, Guerlain, Bvlgari, MAC, Uber
and more.
Aside from being a DoP, Dave also founded a production House DCinematic (滴骰映画) and a film equipment rental house One Man Army.
During his free time, he enjoys shooting his own photos. The collection of his personal photography work is branded as Da Capo.
Last but not least, he has been serving as a brand ambassadors for SONY HONG KONG since 2016.
